Weekend after Thanksgiving in NYC

26 november, 2007

After Pipa on Friday; me, Thomas and Alexandra did Macy’s on Saturday. Oh my god… (with the voice of Janice in ”Friends” (girlfriend of Chandler Bing)). I hate Christmas shopping in Sweden, but this was ridiculous!!

Got a pair of black DKNY jeans though, a really nice cardigan from Nine West (copycat a la Alexandra, she found it first on Thursday) as well as a pair of really nice black shoes.

My shoes are on the right, and Alexandra’s Hush Puppies are on the left :-)

It took its three hours though, and by the time we went down to J&R to get some camera equipment, half of the day was gone. But the weather was awesome… a bit cold but blue sky.

I need a present for Noah’s and Natalie’s baptism on Saturday as well, and going to F&O Schwarz on 59th and 5th Ave was not the easiest thing. That took three hours, but I got away with two cute mobiles for their strollers. Hurrying up to get home and packing stuff, I met up with the bunch at the Irish pub next to the Metro Hotel on 35th and Broadway for some dinner. And then off to Morristown, New Jersey!

Trying to drive after a GPS that did stuff of her (yes, female voice of course, always blame the women!) own, we finally got to our destination. Thomas and Alexandra smuggled me in (!) to their room, where I bunked on the sofa, which was a very comfy one by the way. Woke up early early on Sunday to get ready for the baptism. Got dressed very nicely, and what happened at breakfast? Yes…. Jenny actually just happened to throw her entire breakfast over her clothes. Just for the fun of it. 5 minutes before we had to leave… not that good. Worked on my skirt with water and soap and the stains went out, but the skirt was all wet when we went to the church. Got there juuust in time, a few seconds later and we would have been the crazy toasted foreigners who couldn’t be on time. Interesting sermon at the presbyterian church in Mendham, and the twins Noah and Natalie were adorable.

Had lunch at a golf club and after some coffee and cake back at the house, Thomas & Alex drove me to the station (that was a trip too to remember, but a story for another time… :-) ) and we got there about a minute before the train for Penn left. Great weekend, great company and I definitely didn’t want to leave.

Well back home, Camilla announced she was leaving tomorrow morning, so there was drinks at Aurora in SoHo.

Had some cocktails and Amarone wine and just had the best Sunday evening before we headed home for some well-deserved sleep.
